Selkirk Cricket Club’s 1st X1 will be one of the best turned-out teams in the East League this year, thanks to the generosity of local company Four Seasons Forestry.

Last week the Selkirk-based company handed over a smart new set of playing shirts to the Philiphaugh side, emblazoned with the firm’s distinctive logo.

“This is a great gesture by Four Seasons Forestry,” said Selkirk Cricket Club chairman Chris Highton, “and has given our players a real boost.”

“Playing in a new league is going to be a real challenge for everybody at Philiphaugh this year, and having such loyal sponsors as Four Seasons behind us means a lot to the club.”

Four Seasons Forestry director George Welsh added: “Selkirk is one of the oldest cricket clubs in Scotland, and plays a very important part in the life of our local community. We’re delighted to be able to help in this way, and wish them all the best for their campaign in the new league.”
